It’s fashion’s biggest night!
On Monday, May 7, Hollywood stars put on their most glamorous looks and strutted alongside their designer dates at the 2012 MET Ball. Considered by many as the Oscars of fashion, the annual New York bash welcomed the A-list celebrities to show off their inner style Queens (and Kings) at the city’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Making her debut at the legendary event, which is celebrating the opening of the ‘Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations’ exhibition this year, was singer Lana Del Rey.
The "Blue Jeans" songstress shined at the Metropolitan Museum of Art venue while clad in a stunning silver Joseph Altuzarra gown. The singer, debuting a darker ‘do, attended the event on the arm of designer Joseph Altuzarra. The French designer commented that he wanted Lana's look to "represent her music," and we're pretty sure he nailed it.
Lana Del Rey attended the 2012 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala for the first time on Monday, May 7, evening and went for an old school glamour for the iconic event.
She wore an elegant silver Joseph Altuzarra dress.
However, her addition of dark lipstick a long black cape and made us wonder if maybe she misunderstood the invitation and came dressed as a vampire.
Lana Del Rey has announced two extra shows for her Sydney and Melbourne visits on the back of her appearance on the Splendour in the Grass 2012 lineup in July.
Tickets to her first two shows sold out in only one hour.
